Missing Woman With Alzheimer's Found: Oswego Police

The woman, who goes by Betty, went missing from the Orchard Road Jewel-Osco.

OSWEGO, IL — The search for a missing 75-year-old woman had a happy ending in Oswego Tuesday. Just after 4:30 p.m., Oswego police shared an update saying that the woman, who was last spotted at the Orchard Road, Jewel-Osco store, had been found safe and reunited with her family. She was reported missing after failing to return from the grocery store earlier in the day.

Police thanked everyone who shared social media posts. During the search, they asked people to avoid the area of Jewel-Osco, where the woman, identified only as Elizabeth/"Betty," was reported missing. "Oswego Police and other agencies have resources in the area already," police said just before 4 p.m. "Please do continue to be on the lookout for the woman and search your own neighborhoods or surrounding areas."

An extensive search and rescue crew set up shop outside the store in the search for the woman:
