'Multiple' Car Burglaries Happened Within An Hour Sunday: Oswego Cops

Police are turning to the community to gather more information about the burglaries that happened by Prairie Point Elementary School.

OSWEGO, IL — "Multiple" car burglaries took place on the Grove Road side of Prairie Point Elementary School Sunday, according to Oswego police.

All burglaries happened within a one-hour time span, from about 3:30-4:30 p.m., at the school, located at 3650 Grove Road.

Officials did not specify how many cars were burglarized but told Patch most of the cars affected were SUVs. Purses and wallets were stolen from the cars — one was unlocked and four were broken into by smashing a window, according to Cathy Nevara, the Oswego Police Department spokesperson.
