Nepal Earthquake One Year Anniversary Charity Event

Local resident heading to Nepal in April to assist in rebuilding a critically important school in remote village. Funds extremely needed!

Local Oswego resident, John Palatine, will be trekking through the earthquake damaged area of Nepal this April to help a school named “DEVI JAL KUMARI” in Gorhka. Gorhka was the epicenter of last year’s earthquake that claimed many lives and destroyed thousands of homes and schools. This primary school is a very important part of the school system in this remote area of Nepal. Children either have no school to go to, or have to travel many miles to the nearest school.

This school and region is currently the most in need and your help is extremely needed. Mr. Palatine will personally hand deliver donations this April during the one year anniversary trek and will be responsible for providing you with proof of where your donations are going, pictures of the plaque with your name on it that will be hung at the school upon completion ($50 donation level), and will personally hang your personalized prayer flag at the base camp of Mt. Everest on April 20th, 2016 ($100 donation level). Donations can be made through this link: (Please copy and paste) https://www.generosity.com/education-fundraising/nepal-school-reconstruc...

“Be assured that your money will be used wisely and well. Every cent donated here goes directly to the school-rebuilding project. The volunteers from the supporter trekking company ACE the Himalaya, ACE Holidays, their staffs and other international volunteers do all the administration work”.

Approximately $90,000 will be needed to build a complete school. As you know, this is an extremely low amount in american standards. However, it is still nearly 3 times the usual amount to build a new school because of its rural area. The good news is, our neighbors up north (Canada) has already raised $40,000.

Namaste
