New K9 Unit: Kendall County Sheriff
The Kendall County Sheriff's Office recently announced they were adding a new furry partner to the force.

From Kendall County Sheriff: The Kendall County Sheriff’s Office is proud to announce their newest member of the K9 unit. K9 Rizzo is a 10 month old bloodhound from Tennessee and is a scent discriminative bloodhound that specializes in locating missing and lost people through scent evidence collection.
K9 Rizzo began his rigorous training at the Scent Evidence K9 (SEK9) ranch in Bolivar, Tennessee. Rizzo then moved to Tallahassee, Florida to continue his training. K9 Rizzo joined his handler Deputy John Cady back in Bolivar, Tennessee and both completed their SEK9 handler team certificate on December 13, 2019. Rizzo’s first day of service with the Sheriff’s Office was December 18, 2019. Rizzo will reside with Deputy Cady.
“Recognizing that seconds count when a child, disabled or elderly individual goes missing, the decision was made to extend the availability of a bloodhound to reduce the time it takes to start the tracking of a missing or endangered person. The most important thing in the world is when we need to find a person that is in danger. We do not need to find them later, we need to find them now”, said Sheriff Dwight Baird.
