Oswego Brewing Company Set To Open In 2018

Oswego's newest brewery will open in early 2018, according to a press release, and will feature seasonal and experimental beers.

OSWEGO, IL -- The Oswego Brewing Co., Oswego's soon-to-be newest brewery, is set to open its doors in early 2018. The brewery will feature lots of beer and food trucks on weekends.

"Catering to beer lovers of all walks, the brewery will feature 4-5 house beers available year round," according to a press release. It will also feature a rotating series of experimental beers, which they will use to try new styles and ingredients.

The establishment, which will be at 61 Main St. in the "basement" of the old Village firehouse, will seat 60 in the tap room and 20 in a meeting room. It will aim to "be a welcoming place where our customers can stop in for a beer, play a few board games, socialize with their friends and just feel at home."

They will make 2,000 to 2,800 barrels of beer a year. A barrel is 31 gallons, or two standard kegs. They will let customers see how the brewing process works by having the brew house located right behind the bar.

The brewery is hosting a Special Use Permit public hearing at 7 p.m. on Aug. 10, at the Village Hall.
