Oswego East Grad Missing After Hike In Wash. National Forest
Searches are under way for Jeremiah Adams, 24, who was last seen Friday.

CLALLAM COUNTY, WA — Authorities are searching for an Oswego East graduate and sailor who is presumed missing in the Olympic National Forest’s Buckhorn Wilderness, police in Washington said. The Clallam County Sheriff's Office said Jeremiah Adams, 24, a sailor stationed on the USS Nimitz based in Bremerton, Washington, was last seen the morning of Friday, May 4, when he left for a day hike on the Olympic Peninsula.
Friends realized Adams was missing when he failed to meet with them for a planned hike on Saturday, police said.
"Clallam County Search and Rescue is currently coordinating search efforts for a hiker presumed missing in the Olympic National Forest’s Buckhorn Wilderness south of Sequim," police said in a news release issued Tuesday.

Adams' Facebook page says he's an Aurora native and nuclear electrician's mate with the Navy, as well as a 2012 Oswego East graduate. The page shows him to be an avid hiker, with frequent photos of his various treks.
The Clallam County Sheriff's Office said fellow sailors search for Adams found his vehicle, a silver 2013 Ford Fiesta, at around 10:30 p.m. Monday. The vehicle was parked near a trailhead at the national forest.

On Tuesday, Clallam County Search and Rescue, with help from Kitsap County Search and Rescue and sailors from the USS Nimitz, conducted ground searches in the area.
Police said Adams is 5-foot-9 and weighs around 150 pounds, with blue eyes and short blond hair. Anyone with information on Adams’ whereabouts was asked to call the Clallam County Sheriff’s Office at (360) 417-2459.
