Oswego East High School Hosts African American Engineers and Scientists Interactive Fair

Oswego, Ill. (February 15, 2016) — Oswego East High School (OEHS) Mosaic Club and the Accelerate Career through Education (ACE) Engineering Club hosted an interactive fair of African American Engineers and Scientists.

The fair, which was held Saturday, February 6, at Oswego East High School, gave students the opportunity to learn more about engineering and what it takes to be an engineer. There were activity stations and display tables that students were able to interact with.

A panel of professional engineers and scientists was also present to share their personal journey. They covered necessary class courses, top colleges, potential incomes, and the different disciplines within engineering. Members of the panel were: Martin Bentivengo, Crystal Porter, Bertha Jackon, Kenneth Venzant, Northrop Grumman and others.
