Oswego High Student Charged After 'Perceived Threat Of Violence': PD
School officials called the police Tuesday morning after discovering a document created by a student containing a targeted list of names.

OSWEGO, IL — A 16-year-old Oswego High School student was charged with disorderly conduct, a felony, Thursday after a "perceived threat of violence," Oswego police said.
School officials contacted police around 9:30 a.m. Tuesday after discovering a document created by a student containing a targeted list of names. The report prompted police to "immediately" identify the creator and make sure all students and staff were safe, officials said.
The 16-year-old boy, whose identity was not revealed by police, was taken into custody. The student was charged with felony disorderly conduct, a charge approved by the Kendall County State's Attorney's Office, and taken to the Juvenile Justice Center to await a hearing.

"Oswego Police take all reports of student safety seriously and are dedicated to ensuring they are handled swiftly and appropriately," officials said in a news release Tuesday afternoon.
Following a "thorough" investigation, police said they believe there to be no immediate threat of danger to students, staff or the school.
