Oswego Lawyer Censured Over Domestic Battery Incident
The censure will not affect the lawyer's ability to practice law.

An Oswego lawyer has been censured by the Illinois Supreme Court for his role in a domestic battery incident.
Brian James Russell, who has been licensed since 1999, was formally censured by the court Thursday, Jan. 21.
“A censure reflects a determination that the lawyer has engaged in misconduct, but that the violation is not so serious to warrant a sanction that would affect the lawyer’s authority to continue to practice law,” said the Attorney Registration and Disciplinary Commission. “As a result, censure does not affect the authority of a lawyer to continue to practice law.”
