Oswego Library to Hold Summer Reading Program

Program has events for kids and adults.

The Oswego Public Library District’s Summer Reading program, Every Hero Has a Story, will start on Monday, June 1, and continue through Sunday, August 2.

Infants to adults can be involved with Summer Reading. Just stop by the reference desk in the Adult or Youth Services Department to pick up a reading log.

A Kick-off Celebration will be held at the Montgomery Campus from 10:30 a.m. to noon on Monday, June 1. There will be raffles, carnival games and costumed characters.

This event is for kids, teens and adults. Stop by to have some fun and pick up your reading log.

Other youth programs this summer will include a magic show with Dennis DeBondt, a balloon show by Smarty Pants, and a Superhero Training Camp.

Adult Services is offering a self-defense class with the Oswego Police Department, computer classes for the adult beginner and a dramatic retelling of the sinking of the Eastland by Terry Lynch.
