Oswego Man Accused Of Fatally Shooting 44-Year-Old: Chicago PD
Charleston Harris, of the 300 block of Ogden Falls Boulevard, is charged with first-degree murder, according to Chicago police.
OSWEGO, IL — A 37-year-old Oswego man was arrested Monday in connection to a fatal shooting from earlier this summer, according to the Chicago Police Department.
Charleston Harris, of the 300 block of Ogden Falls Boulevard, has been identified by police as the person who shot and killed a 44-year-old man in the 500 block of East 79th Street July 24, officials said Tuesday.
Theodore Smith was standing in front of a 24-hour convenience store when someone walked up and shot him in the chest around 8:15 p.m., according to reports from the Chicago Sun-Times. An employee at the store, he was smoking a cigarette when he was killed, the news outlet wrote.

About four and a half months later, the Oswego man was placed into custody and charged with one felony count of first-degree murder. Police said no additional information is available at this time.
