Oswego Man Charged With Aggravated Battery To A Police Officer
Oswego Police Department reports from May 27 to May 29.

OSWEGO, IL —

Domestic battery
Oswego Police say Julie A. Haas, 51, of 356 S. Madison St., Oswego, has been charged with two counts of domestic battery after injuring a victim at the residence at 5:25 a.m., May 27. Haas was arrested at 5:45 a.m. and taken to KCSO where she is being held. Her court date is set for 8:30 a.m., June 12, 2018.

Aggravated battery to an police officer
Oswego Police say Joshua C. Newcomer, 41, of 2012 Farmington Lakes Dr., Oswego, has been charged with two counts of aggravated battery to a police officer and criminal damage to property after a 39-year-old female from Oswego reported a complaint from the residence at 10:24 p.m., where Newcomer was arrested and has been detained.

Accident from use of cellphone while driving
Oswego Police say Krysta M. Navarro, 22, of 118 Chesterfield Court, Oswego, has been charged with use of cellphone while driving after rear ending a sedan she was driving into a van driven by Patricia D. Brooking, 54, with 59-year-old passenger Michael J. Brooking inside, both of Oswego at 2:16 p.m., May 29 on Mason Square Drive and Route 34. Navarro was arrested at 2:45 p.m. Navarro's court date is set for 5 p.m., June 28 at Oswego Village Hall.
Failure to reduce speed resulting in an accident, injury
Oswego Police say Diane Gould, 84, of 337o White Oak Drive, Oswego, has been charged with failure to reduce speed resulting in an accident after the sedan she was driving turned left into one driven by Marcia L. Wilkins, 67, of Yorkville, at 12:44 p.m., May 29 on Orchard Road on Route 34. Wilkins was taken to the hospital with injuries. Gould was arrested at 1:44 p.m. Her court date is set for 8:30 a.m. on July 10 at KCSO.
Domestic battery
Oswego Police say Brandon K. Backus, 20, of 120 Amhurst Circle, Oswego, has been charged with domestic battery causing bodily harm and domestic battery for making physical contact on a 19-year-old victim at the Amhurst Circle residence at 3:49 a.m., May 29. Backus was arrested at 4:28 a.m. and was taken to KCSO where he is being held without bond. His court date is set for July 3, 2018.
