Oswego Man Found With Severe Injuries, Montgomery Man Charged

The victim, a 36-year-old Oswego man, is being treated for severe injuries to his head and face.

OSWEGO, IL — A 46-year-old Montgomery man faces felony charges after police found another man unconscious and severely injured in Oswego. Officers responded to a report of an unconscious person in the 0-99 block of West Washington Street at around 2 a.m. Sunday.

Officers found the victim, a 36-year-old Oswego man, on the pavement with head and facial injuries. The man was initially treated at a local hospital before being transported to a Chicago hospital for his severe injuries, police said. Officials had no further information on his current condition.

Police said an investigation led to the arrest of Hector Saldana Jr., 46, of Montgomery. Saldana, who is charged with felony aggravated battery with great bodily harm, was booked at the Oswego Police Department and awaits a bond hearing on Monday.
