Oswego Man Kept Puppy in Trunk for More Than 5 Hours
The puppy was found after Naperville police arrested the man on suspicion of stealing from his employer.

An Oswego man has been charged with inhumane treatment of an animal after he allegedly locked a puppy in the trunk of his car for more than five hours, according to Naperville police.
Jorge K. Castellanos-Duran, 23, of the 4400 block of Bickford Drive in Oswego, was arrested Oct. 23 after an incident at the Arthur Murray Dance Center in Naperville where the man worked. Castellanos-Duran allegedly stole $94 from the center’s petty cash box.

After Castellanos-Duran was arrested, police were told that the man had a puppy in the trunk of his Toyota Camry, Naperville Police Commander Jason Arres said in an email.
Arres also said the trunk contained two bowls and a dog bed. The puppy was kept in the trunk for around 5 ½ hours without enough food, water, light or ventilation.

Castellanos-Duran was also charged with the alleged theft of money from the dance center, according to Arres.
