After noticing an alleged equipment violation, deputies conducted a traffic stop at 11:42 p.m. Nov. 27 in the area around North Madison Street and Glendale Avenue in Oswego Township. A passenger in the car, 66-year-old William Kelley, was arrested on a warrant for missing a court date for a case regarding driving on a suspended license, according to reports from WSPY News.

While detained at the Kendall County jail, he kicked a deputy, according to a news release from the Kendall County Sheriff's Office. Kelley, of the 400 block of Orchard Road in Oswego, was charged with aggravated battery causing great bodily harm.

He is due to appear in court on Jan. 4.
