Oswego Marine to Get Hero's Welcome

Oswego native and U.S. Marine Miclo Ramirez will be given a hero’s welcome when he returns home his service in Kuwait.

The Oswego Police Department, the Yorkville Police Department and the Kendall County Sheriff’s Office will be participating in a welcome home ride with Adopt a Soldier, which reached out to law enforcement to be part of a motorcade to honor U.S. Marine Corps Lance Corporal Miclo Ramirez.

Lance Corporal Ramirez is an Oswego native and has served with the USMC since 2013. He graduated from Oswego High School and was a member of the Oswego Explorer program for six years. He is also a recipient of the Meritorious Mast Award and received a letter of acknowledgement from President Obama.

The motorcade will begin at 3:30 p.m. May 7 and start from the Home Depot in Oswego and go to the Yorkville American Legion by way of Route 34. The public is advised that there may be slow moving traffic in this area during the procession which will last approximately 20 to 30 minutes.
