Oswego Police Department Is Hiring Police Officers
The Oswego Police Department offers employees a competitive starting salary, medical and dental insurance, paid time off and a pension.
OSWEGO, IL — The Oswego Police Department is hiring police officers, and the deadline to submit an application is June 3, officials announced Thursday.
Candidates will perform an eligibility test in early June, and officials said candidates who were previously disqualified are not precluded from reapplying.
To qualify, candidates have to be at least 21 years old but younger than 35, have an associate or bachelor's degree, 60 credit hours at an accredited college or university, or relavent military experience. People thinking to apply must also be a U.S. citizen and have a driver's license and Firearm Owner's Identification Act card.

"The Oswego Police Department offers a competitive starting salary and other benefits typical of local law enforcement, such as excellent medical and dental insurance, paid time off, and a pension," officials said in a news release. "Oswego's fast-paced growth as a community also means officers also have plenty of opportunities to grow into more specialized areas of policing."
An application for the position can be found online. A $25 application fee is required.
