Oswego Senior Center Announces February Event Schedule

Events in late January and February include a Valentine Dance and an introduction to Medicare benefits.

From Oswego Senior Center: ALL AGES VALENTINE DINNER DANCE

Saturday, February 8

All ages are invited for a fun-filled evening with a dinner buffet, entertainment and dancing, for just $20 per person –two people for $35. The Valentine Dinner Dance is hosted by the Oswego Senior Center and will be held at the American Legion, 19 W. Washington St., Oswego. Doors open 5pm, buffet dinner 6 pm and entertainment and dancing 7 – 9:30pm. Back by popular request – Music Entertainment by Edizon Dayao who will have you up and dancing or least tapping your toe! Grab your favorite date or grab some friends or come as a single; there will be plenty of people to join for dinner and fun entertainment – just be sure to come! Cash bar will be available. OSC Painting Club

Coffee and Canvas instructor Jennifer Hunger brings interesting art projects to the Oswego Senior Center located at 156 E. Washington St. This engaging program requires no experience and is intergenerational—invite, family, friends or neighbors to come for a fun afternoon with others and enjoy painting. Yellowstone and The Wild West Travel Tour

July 17 - 23, 2020

Travel with Oswego Senior Center group for a 7 Day / 6 Night Tour through Salt Lake City, Yellowstone National Park, Jackson, Wyoming, Grand Teton National Park, and Park City, Utah. The tour includes a guided tour of Salt Lake City, a Wildlife Safari in Yellowstone, a visit to Old Faithful Geyser, the Grizzly & Wolf Discovery Center, and then on to Jackson, Wyoming for a scenic Jenny Lake cruise in Grand Teton National Park, followed by a hearty supper with old western entertainment at the Bar J Chuckwagon in Jackson. $3,095 a person Double Occupancy, $4,170 Single. Caregiver Education Series: “Hoarding”

Hoarding disorder is a persistent difficulty discarding or parting with possessions because of a perceived need to save them. A person with hoarding disorder experiences distress at the thought of getting rid of the items. Learn how to identify a hoarder and learn strategies to assist at the Oswego senior Center presentation. Presented by Kendall County Health Department. RSVP, 630-554-5602.

Jewelry Making Class

Tuesday, January 28, 1 –3pm

Tammy Smith, of Stoned Gifts & Lapidary, will be presenting a hands-on bracelet making class at Oswego Senior Center, 156 E. Washington St. Join us for this fun, creative class! You will be creating the unique “I’m Moody” bracelet. The cost includes all the gorgeous, polished stones and other materials – your beautiful bracelet will be ready to take home the day of the class. OSWEGO SENIOR CENTER CONGREGATE MEAL PROGRAM

The Oswego Senior Center, 156 E. Washington, offers congregate lunch to seniors (age 60 plus) Monday, Wednesday and Thursday each week at noon. Reservations are required by 10am the business day prior to lunch. Suggested $5 donation.

Monday January 20: Chicken Enchiladas, Yellow Rice, Black Beans and Sugar Cookies.

Wednesday January 22: Hamburger/Cheeseburger on Bun Toppings (onion, lettuce, tomato), Home Fries, Baby Carrots, Celery, Snap Peas with Ranch Dip and Chef’s Choice Dessert
