OSWEGO, IL — Oswego Village Board Trustee Luis Perez, who was newly elected in April, resigned from the position, officials announced Wednesday.

The village cited the former trustee's decision to pursue an out-of-state job as the reason for his departure. His term was originally set to expire in April 2027.

Perez had experience serving as a trustee on the Village Board, having been first elected to the position in 2015. He served until 2021 and then was elected again in April 2023, with his term set to expire in 2027.
