The students earned the waivers in the amount of either $1,000 or $2,500 based on their fundraising efforts.

OSWEGO, IL — The Oswego High School Vocal Music Department (OVMD) has just released $89,500 in tuition waivers to 55 vocal music students as part of a partnership with Great American Opportunities (GAO).

GAO is a fundraising company that has worked with director Frank J. Tieri since he arrived at OHS 18 years ago. The students earned the waivers in the amount of either $1,000 or $2,500 based on their fundraising efforts, and they can be used at 340 colleges and universities across the country, 23 of which are in Illinois.

The OVMD has been raising funds to compete at Disneyworld in Orlando, Fla. in March. Tieri would like to thank all of the community members who helped raise the necessary funds by ordering from what will now be an annual tumbler sale. This allows the waivers to be earned at no additional cost to the community. Next year’s OVMD members will have another chance to earn even more waivers.
