Oswego Winter-Themed Exhibit Allows Residents To Showcase Artwork

Oswego's Art at Village Hall winter exhibit will be on display Nov. 22 through Jan. 28.

OSWEGO, IL — The Oswego Cultural Arts Commission is preparing a holiday display for the Art at Village Hall Art exhibits, and residents are invited to help with the display. For the exhibit that'll run Nov. 22 through Jan. 28, Oswegoans can create a winter-themed card of their choice.

Interested artists and residents of any age can pick up a free mixed media card, sized 5.5 inches by 8.5 inches, at Village Hall, 100 Parkers Mill Place, through Nov. 1. From there, imagination can do the work. Artists are responsible for their own materials but paint, crayons, markers, ink, collage materials and digital media are all fair game.

Residents can also add a single or double frame to their card, but it shouldn't exceed more than 2 inches in diameter on all sides, according to project guidelines. Once the artwork on the card is complete, it can be dropped off at the Human Resources desk on the second floor of Village Hall during regular business hours Nov. 1-5 and Nov. 8-12.

Artists should write their name and email address on the back of the card for reference in the exhibit. They'll be able to pick up their work starting Jan. 31 through Feb. 4.

More guidelines for the project can be found on the village's website. Questions about the exhibit can be directed to Julie Hoffman, community engagement coordinator of events, at jhoffman@oswegoil.org or 630-551-2344.
