Oswego, Yorkville Schools to Remain Closed Thursday

Due to continued inclement weather some area schools will remain closed on Thursday, Jan. 8.

The following districts have cancelled so far:

• Oswego School District 308
• Yorkville Community Unit School District 115
• Joliet School District 86
• Joliet Township High School District 204
• Minooka Community High School District
• Channahon School District 17
• Taft School District 90
• Troy Community Consolidated School District 30-C
• Plainfield Community Consolidated School District 202

A wind chill advisory remains in effect until noon Thursday, with dangerously cold wind chills of 25 to 30 below, the National Weather Service said.

Light snow is in the forecast for Thursday afternoon and evening, the NWS reported.
