Pedestrian Killed In Oswego Crash

It happened early Friday on Washington Street.

OSWEGO, IL — A woman was killed early Friday when she was struck by an SUV while crossing the street in Oswego. Police said the pedestrian was crossing Washington Street outside a crosswalk near Adams Street at around 6:30 a.m. when she was hit by a westbound SUV.

The woman was transported with serious injuries to a nearby hospital, but did not survive, police said. The driver of the SUV was not injured in the crash.

Washington Street was closed between Harrison and Main Street for an hour Friday.

Police did not immediately release the name of the pedestrian pending notification of family. The crash remains under investigation.
