Witnesses told police that Acevedo had fled the area with a weapon in his hand and that the argument had started over a cell phone.
Acevedo was apprehended later at his residence Sept. 11. During a search of his home, officers located four firearms, three handguns and one rifle inside his bedroom. Acevedo is currently on bond for multiple offenses and as a condition of his bond he was to surrender any and all firearms to the Plano police.
The police investigation has revealed that Erickson and Acevedo had known each other prior to the stabbing and that Erickson was not armed at the time.
Erickson was pronounced dead by members of the LIttle Rock-Fox Fire Protection District. An autopsy performed by the Kendall County Coroner’s Office indicated that Erickson had died from multiple stab wounds.
The investigation is ongoing and people with information are encouraged to call the Plano Police Department.
