It's be the company's first location in Kendall County and its general vicinity.
OSWEGO, IL — Dutch Bros Coffee, a popular drive-thru-only cafe, is planning to open in Oswego.
The Village Board unanimously voted Tuesday night to approve annexation and rezoning, as well as a special use permit and a final planned use development for Dutch Bros.
The coffee shop will span 1,193 square feet. Although no customers will be able to enter the building, they will be able to visit a walk-up window.

Dutch Bros, with locations spanning the country, is known for its customizable, dessert-like beverages. Its clientele is largely under 25, and one-third of their sales happen after 3 p.m., a company representative said at the meeting.
As Dutch Bros continues to expand in Illinois, the Oswego location marks its first in Kendall County. Its first Chicagoland location is due to open this year in Melrose Park, with plans to expand to Oak Park, Buffalo Grove and Naperville. The company has already made a foray into downstate Illinois.

"People seem to be thrilled beyond that we're getting a Dutch Bros Coffee, so thank you for bringing that in," Trustee Karen Novy said.
Trustee Rachelle Koenig added that she has traveled to Arizona, California and Colorado with her children and "had to detour ... 45 minutes in order to find the Dutch Bros where we were staying. I have done it every single time. I cannot tell you how excited my children are that these guys are coming."
The Oswego location is expected to open later this year, according to a report.
The 2-acre property is located on the south side of Route 34, east of the intersection with Ogden Falls Boulevard. The company plans to divide the property into two lots, with the coffee shop sitting on about 0.87 acres adjacent to Shell. The second lot, about 1.11 acres, will await further development.
The developer sought a preliminary and final PUD and plat for the first lot and only a preliminary PUD for the second.
A portion of the site was annexed and rezoned to B-2 Community Shopping District in 1988 as part of the larger Ogden Falls annexation. The remaining two-thirds of the site were previously in unincorporated Kendall County under two separate zoning classifications.
