Possible Gang-Related Shooting in Oswego Injures 16-Year-Old Boy
Police have no suspects at this time.

OSWEGO, IL — A possible gang-related shooting injured a 16-year-old boy overnight in Oswego.
Oswego Police were called to the area of Tyler and Adams Streets at 12:23 a.m. Saturday for a report of a disturbance and shots fired. Officers responding to the location found a 16-year-old boy on the ground with a gunshot wound, according to the Oswego Police Department. Officers provided medical assistance to the juvenile until paramedics arrived. The boy, who is from Aurora, was transported to Rush Copley Hospital for non-life threatening injuries and is currently in surgery.
Oswego police said that several individuals were in the area when a fight ensued. The boy was then shot at which time the suspects fled the scene. Oswego detectives are currently investigating the incident along with the Kendall County Criminal Intelligence Team. At this time there is no clear motive and no suspect information has been ascertained. It is believed that this is an isolated incident and that the boy may have gang-related ties and may have been the intended target.
