PrairieFest 2017 Volunteers Needed

PrairieFest officials are asking for volunteers aged 12-and-up to help organize and run the event.

OSWEGO, IL -- The Oswegoland Park District is asking for volunteers to help with the annual PrairieFest set for June 15 to 18. Officials ask for volunteers aged 12 and up to spend a few hours keeping the park safe and clean or directing traffic.

Volunteer shifts will run for two to three hours. There are three separate sets of volunteers needed, each based on age. They are junior high students, high school students and adults.

Junior high students will be assigned as ground crew members, who will keep the grounds safe and clean. High school students may be on the parking crew, helping show festival goers to their parking spaces. Adult volunteers can serve beer, greet guests or drive shuttles. Kendall County Now reported that kids who volunteer will "earn community service credit towards their scholastic, athletic or religious commitments."
