Route 71 Pavement Widening to Start Dec. 1
Work will be from the Orchard Road area to south of Wolf's Crossing.

Beginning the week of Dec. 1, the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) will be working on the temporary pavement widening in Oswego on Route 71, weather permitting, the village announced.
Both concrete and asphalt work will take place from near Orchard Road to south of Wolf’s Crossing.
The work is anticipated to take five to seven days to complete, according to the village. Following completion of the temporary widening, traffic will be switched to the widened section to allow work on the project to proceed.
Motorists are advised that traffic on Route 71 is expected to be very congested during this work and motorists may want to consider alternate routes around the work zone. Message boards at the project limits will indicate major delays are expected so motorists can reroute if desired.
Motorists are also encouraged to use extreme caution when traveling through the work zone and to be alert for changing traffic patterns, flaggers and all workers.
