Scam Awareness Day at Oswego Senior Center

The presentation will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. May 10.

The Oswego Senior Center will present its annual Scam Awareness Day from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday, May 10, according to a press release from the center.

This comprehensive event is an opportunity to learn about current scams and schemes that are impacting community members. By becoming aware of scams, schemes and identity theft, participants will be better prepared to avoid being a victim through knowing what to do if put in a compromising situation, the release said.

This year’s Scam Awareness Day will feature: local schemes and scams by Detective Patrick Wicyk; hiring persons to come to your home by Eric Weis, State’s Attorney; consumer fraud and identity theft by Cristina Mancini, Illinois Comptroller’s Office; stopping financial exploitation by Dan Gutierrez, Senior Services Associates, and more.

Food will be provided by Autumn Leaves of Oswego.
