School Board Votes In Favor Of Pay Hike For Administrators
In a 4-3 split ballot, the Oswego School District 308 board members decided to renew contracts for its administrators.
OSWEGO, IL — During its remote meeting Monday, May 11, the Oswego School District 308 Board of Education renewed contracts for its administrator's for the next school year that will grant them a 2 percent salary hike.
The ballot was split 4-3 and board members Brent Lightfoot, Toni Morgan and Alison Swanson cast the negative votes on the motion to approve the contracts. Voting in favor were Board President Lauri Doyle and members Ruth Kroner, Matt Bauman and Heather Moyer.
Lightfoot said he did not support the salary increase due to the current economic crisis brought on by the pandemic and the high unemployment resulting from it, along with the uncertainty over the district's property tax revenues.
