Second School District 308 Boundary Committee Meeting Set for Tomorrow, Sept. 15

Oswego, Ill. (September 14, 2016) - Community Unit School District 308 Boundary Advisory Committee will have its second meeting tomorrow evening, September 15 at Oswego East High School (OEHS).

The Boundary Advisory Committee is made up of stakeholders from throughout the community and was created to help with the process of redrawing boundary lines for the state’s seventh largest school district. The committee will meet five times over the next couple of months. There will also be two public forums to solicit input from parents and the communities served by the district.

During the first meeting on September 6, the committee was provided with a “homework assignment,” which included taking time to drive to schools in the district and surveying the areas surrounding the schools. They were also encouraged to talk with community members about what they discussed at the committee meeting and to list to their ideas and provide those responses at the meeting on September 15. Boundary Committee meetings will be held at 6 p.m. in the community room at OEHS on:

• September 15
• October 13
• October 20
• November 10

The public forums will be held on:

• November 1, at 7 p.m., at Traughber Junior High School
• November 2, at 7 p.m., at OEHS.
