‘Serious’ Crash Reported Near Walker Road, Ashley Road: Kendall County Sheriff

Two roads are closed Thursday afternoon as a result of the collision, officials said.

KENDALL COUNTY, IL — A “serious” crash occurred Thursday afternoon near the intersection of Walker Road and Ashley Road in Kendall Township, the sheriff’s office said.

In an alert shared at about 3:40 p.m., deputies said two roads are closed as result of the incident.

Walker Road is closed between Penman and Church roads, and Ashley Road is closed between Ament and Caton Farm roads.

Drivers should use alternate routes until the scene is cleared, officials said.

The Kendall County Sheriff’s Office has not shared details of what caused the crash or if there were injuries.

Multiple people have died or were seriously injured in crashes in the immediate area in recent years.

Earlier this summer, two adults and a 4-year-old were killed after a police said a drunken driver crashed head-on into an SUV on Route 71, just down the street from Thursday’s crash.

In 2025, an 83-year-old woman died and two others suffered life-threatening injuries in a crash at Ashley and Walker roads, Patch reported.
