Shrek Musical to Benefit Local Charities

Aurora Junior Woman’s Club, together with Aurora Children’s Dental Service, present Shrek: An Ogre’s Tale on Friday, March 13th at 7:00 p.m. and Saturday, March 14th at 11:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. in the West Aurora High School Auditorium at 1201 West New York Street, Aurora. This spring, director Ann Marie Decker of North Aurora leads the all-women cast with grace as she collaborates with club members to bring the show to life. “This year’s Aurora Junior Woman’s Club production will take the audience to the magical land of Duloc with the wonderfully crass, but lovable Shrek,” says Ann Marie, also a 5th grade teacher at the John C. Dunham STEM Partnership School at Aurora University. “This William Steig story takes on a twist when the AJWC women update it with modern songs, lines and a smoking dragon!”

For over 55 years, The Aurora Junior Woman’s Club and Aurora Children’s Dental Service have pledged their service to the Fox Valley community. By scripting, directing and performing their own shows, AJWC and ACDS have been able to raise funds for local charitable endeavors and provide urgent dental care for children in need. In providing these life changing services, AJWC and ACDS have successfully lead children down a path to pursue a lifetime of good oral health.
