(Sugar Grove, Ill.) Oct. 20, 2015—Every day the instructors at SimplyFly help its clients give “flight” to their dreams of becoming a pilot through its structured programs.

SimplyFly is now asking Chicago areas residents to embark on a new mission called “Project Blue Sky.” The goal behind this Kickstarter campaign is to raise money and for the community to help physically build a Van’s RV-12 Aircraft in a hangar at Aurora Municipal Airport. Considered a “sports car” in the sports aircraft world, the Van’s RV-12 Aircraft is a two-seat, all-metal small light sport airplane with removable wings.

The Kickstarter campaign will begin on Oct. 19 and last 30 days. Monies raised will cover the cost of a Van’s RV-12 airplane kit, tools and operating expenses associated with this project. Incentives include a taking a 30-minute discovery flight and video; going on a Lakefront flight and lunch; earning a sport pilot license or having the privilege of starting the engine of the new aircraft for the very first time.

For information, visit www.SimplyFlyBuild.com.

By the numbers, the building of the plane is scheduled to begin next January and will end in October. This project will need an estimated 2,000 hours for building and will take 10 months to complete.

“Building a plane like this one will allow all ages and backgrounds to participate in a project that will make an impression on the for the rest of their lives,” Tony Sabos, Partner at SimplyFly. “Many people don’t get a chance to be around aircraft/airports other than when they travel on a commercial airliner. This will allow them to see the value in aviation in their community as well as an asset for education and a future job market.”
