'Sister Act' to be Performed at Waubonsee Community College

Fox Country Players presents the new, toe-tapping, celebratory hit “Sister Act” Oct. 14, 15 and 16 at Waubonsee Community College in Sugar Grove.

“Sister Act” is the feel-good musical comedy based on the hit 1992 film that has won over audiences from London to Broadway! Featuring original music by Tony and eight-time Oscar winner, Alan Menken, this uplifting musical was nominated for five Tony Awards, including Best Musical.

Family-friendly entertainment, “Sister Act” tells the hysterical tale of Deloris Van Cartier, a diva-hopeful, desperate to make it big, whose life takes a dramatic turn when she witnesses a crime and has to go into hiding in the last place anyone would search: a convent. Under the watchful eye of Mother Superior, Deloris helps the sweet sisters find their own voices all while rediscovering her own. This show is a beautiful testament to the power of faith and friendship, finding our true path in life and is a powerful reason to sing and rejoice.

Featuring talent from all over the Chicagoland area, this divine delight is brimming with over 30 local performers and regional professionals from communities, including Sugar Grove, Naperville, Aurora, Lisle, Chicago, Bolingbrook, Yorkville, Park Forest, Plano, Downers Grove, Montgomery, Glen Ellyn, Riverside, that are all excited to be a part of a new show that has not been produced in the area yet.

Reserved seating is available for Friday, Oct. 14 and Saturday, Oct.15 at 7 p.m. and Sunday, Oct. 16 at 2 p.m. at the Waubonsee Community College Auditorium on the Sugar Grove campus.
