OSWEGO, IL — Six cars have been reported stolen to Oswego Police. The majority of the cars stolen were unlocked with their keys left inside, according to police.

Police said five of the vehicles have already been recovered. Investigations are ongoing, and no arrests have been made.

  • Close all windows and sunroof and take your keys
  • Never hide your key on or in the vehicle
  • Park in well-lit areas
  • Never leave your vehicle running when unattended
  • Always set your emergency brake and turn wheel into the curb to deter theft by tow truck
  • Use car alarm or other anti-theft devices
