Spirit Cheer Teams Rock the Competition
This past weekend was a Rockin good time for Yorkville’s Spirit Cheerleading. Schaumburg IL was the place for the GLCC Showdown. This competition brought in hundreds of teams throughout the country to compete for a National Champion title. All the teams worked hard and did their very best. The level 1 mini and JR prep teams Frenzy and Ambition were the first to come away with 1st place trophies (which were shaped like a guitar) and banners! Spirit’s prep teams also received a Spirit Award for their high energy and enthusiasm. Way to go Frenzy and Ambition! Spirit’s full season teams Passion a level 1 JR, and Team Int3nsity a level 3 JR also came thru with the National Champion title, trophies and banners. It was a 2 day competition and the teams fought through a few injuries and persevered to come up with great scores and did very well. Legacy a SR level 2 team came thru with a 2nd place trophy, Team Inspire a youth level 2 got a 3rd place trophy, Pride a mini level 1 team placed 5th, and team Envy SR level 4 got a 6th place award. The Teams will be back in Schaumburg again this weekend to compete in the American Classic Cheer Competition. As Spirit’s 2015-2016 season nears the end we invite you to come see these amazing athletes in action.
