URGENT Dog & Puppy Foster Homes Needed for 7/13

Will you please help us bring these pups to safety?

Our shelter partners in Tennessee are over"pup"ulated! The state does not have Spay and Neuter Laws like Illinois and they are doing the best they can to shelter all of the dogs and puppies in need. Overcrowding, combined with the influx of dogs lost and surrendered over the July 4th Holiday has created an emergency!

Safe Haven Dog Rescue would like to help these dogs and puppies by bringing them to Illinois on Saturday 7/13. We don't have a physical location, so we rely on the generosity of our community to open their homes to these dogs while they find their families. There's no better way to spend your summer!

Here are some of the souls hoping to hitch a ride to freedom:

"J" Puppies - There are seven cuties to choose from in this litter! These pups are sweet and social. They can be fostered as singles, pairs, or even threes and fours! It's up to you! Who can resist puppy kisses? They're all about 8-10lbs and 8 weeks old

Janie - Mama to the 7 "J" puppies. Now that the puppies are weaned, it's her turn to find her forever home. Janie is a shelter favorite! She is calm, gentle, and sweet with everyone, she even walks well on a leash and keeps her kennel clean! Janie is heartworm positive, so she would need a foster home that is willing to foster her through treatment. Heartworm is not a threat to the dogs in your home as long as they are on a HW preventative.

Highness - This adorable pointer mix girl is about 30lbs. We brought some of her siblings to Illinois last trip and they are a delight! Highness loves people and dogs of all kinds. She's very playful and tries to make friends with the dogs in the shelter by running along the kennel fence and play bowing.

Harry - PLEASE Help Harry! Harry is not doing well at the shelter in Tennessee. He's been checked by the vet and is okay physically, but he appears to be depressed from living in the chaotic shelter. We'd LOVE to bring him to Illinois this Saturday 7/13 and into a foster home where he can start living the life he deserves. Harry is 80lbs and about 5 years old. He's heartworm positive, which will require 2 months of treatment (provided by Safe Haven).

Safe Haven provides you with everything you need while you foster: crate, leash, collar, food, toys, treats, veterinary care at our partner vet offices. You will also have a wonderful network of support to answer any questions you may have to share pictures and milestones. Our foster families also have the first option to adopt the dog you foster.

Please let us know if you are willing to welcome one of these dogs or puppies. Please email safehavendogsil@yahoo.com for additional details. We need to have committed fosters by 10am Thursday 7/11 in order to bring them here.

Transport will arrive mid to late afternoon Saturday July 13th. Please don't delay, e-mail for an application or download an application using this link SHDR Foster Application and e-mail it to safehavendogsil@yahoo.com

This is a great group of dogs and we don't want to leave any behind!!!

If you are not in the position to foster, please SHARE this post. Everyone knows someone that might be interested in helping. Thank you!
