Village Releases Statistics for Kendall Area Transit Services
KAT took over PACE services for the Village of Oswego in January.

Kendall Area Transit (KAT) took over for the Village of Oswego for park and ride services in January 2013 and started dial-a-ride services in November 2012.
"We have had a pretty significant increase in dial a ride average daily ridership per month," said village administrator Steve Jones. "As a full year goes by we’ll see seasonal factors."
Dial-a-ride offers curb-to-curb service with priorities given to senior citizens and those with disabilities.

Dial-a-ride numbers have increased since the service began, starting with 231 average daily ridership services a month in November, 2012 and up to 348 in March 2013.
KAT also took over the village's park and ride service at the station on Orchard Road, which PACE had previously been contracted for.

With KAT two more routes were opened, allowing for more flexibility for riders.
Average daily ridership numbers by month rose from 40 trips in November 2012, which is when PACE still handled service, to 53 trips in March with KAT.
Jones said there were three components for the increase in numbers.
"One is the employment situation; there may be more folks working downtown.Additional routes opening up is a convenience factor. And number three, we're marketing this."
Jones said he didn't how much of the increase can be attributed specifically to the last factor, but said, "Were heading in the right direction. We're very pleased and just have to keep those numbers rising."
