Vote for Toni
This is an endorsement for Toni Morgan as candidate for Oswego SD308 School Board April 4, 2017 by Kim Rainsford Livingston.
On April 4th, I’m voting for Toni Morgan to fill one of the four open seats on the SD308 School Board. I hope you’ll vote for her, too.
I’ve known Toni for over 30 years, and through the decades, we -- both of us teachers and mothers -- have had many discussions about education, especially in District 308.
Without a doubt, we need Toni Morgan on our school board. Here’s why:

Toni is an experienced educator and knows what students need. She’s practical. And passionate. When budget limitations require prioritizing, I want Toni in on the decision. She understands what’s really important and is devoted to helping all students learn.
Toni understands SD308 as an employee and as a parent. She has taught at Hunt Club and East View. Her children have attended East View, Hunt Club, Traughber, Plank, and OHS. She knows our schools and the people in them. Toni understands the complexity of parents’, teachers’, and administrators’ needs in a way that not many people do.

Toni adores her students and their families. We can’t go anywhere in town without her running into the family of a student she once taught. She knows the parents and siblings well because she asks questions and listens to their answers. She laughs with them and encourages them, as they encourage her to keep reaching students the way she reached theirs.
She’s into people, not politics. Toni respects all kinds and expects the best from them. And because of that, they usually deliver. She notices similarities, not differences, and builds connections everywhere she goes.
Toni is not afraid to speak up. She has intelligent, informed opinions about education and is strong enough to engage those who are taking our schools in the wrong direction. She believes in dialogue and respectful debates and has the knowledge, perseverance, and passion to do what needs to be done.
Please, vote for Toni Morgan on April 4th.
