What's Open, Closed on Presidents Day?

Presidents Day originally began in 1885 as a way to celebrate George Washington’s birthday. Since then, it’s become a way to celebrate all presidents, according to History.com. It is celebrated on the third Monday in February.
However, some people know it as a day off from work. Here’s a list of which places will be open or closed for the holiday.
- Federal offices: closed
- Post offices: closed
- Oswego schools: closed
- State offices: closed
- Kendall County offices: closed
- Kendall County courthouse: closed
- Library: open
- Oswego city government offices: closed
- Banks: many are closed; check your local bank schedule
- Metra and CTA: normal weekday service
- Malls, restaurants: open
