Why is Attempted Oswego Abductor Out of Jail?

A letter from a concerned Oswego resident.

The following is a letter submitted to Patch from Oswego resident Susan Betz. It has been edited for grammar and punctuation.

I am very concerned by our judicial system. A man tries to kidnap two
girls and he is already out on bail
? How can that be? Why only $10,000 bail,
making it easy for him to be released with a measly fine of $1,000? So not hurting those girls means he isn’t dangerous to our children? Get real.
It’s not a speeding ticket or jaywalking. He tried to harm two young girls. Why? It makes no sense. Now every child is in danger. Explain to me. His crime was every parent’s nightmare.

They have a partial license, fits the auto and he was described. Unreal to me that we let him loose. I know he deserves a trial, but shouldn’t he have been kept in jail till then so our children could be safe? Very disturbed by this.
