Wife of Kendall County Deputy Loses Battle with Cancer

She passed away Sunday surrounded by her family.

YORKVILLE, IL — Stacy Tongate, wife of Kendall County Deputy Zach Tongate, passed away Sunday at her home.

Tongate was surrounded by her family when she succumbed to her battle with cancer, which she had fought for eight years.

A fundraiser scheduled for Thursday at Rosati’s of Yorkville will still be happening, with proceeds likely going into a fund for their daughter, Avery. The fundraiser will go from 11 a.m. to close Thursday, Oct. 13. Those who mention the Tongate family will have 20 percent of their sale donated. The offer applies to delivery, carry-out or dine-in. A raffle is also being held from 5 to 9 p.m. the same day. Each raffle ticket costs $100 and includes the chance to win a Bulls Sky Box, which includes a $500 food credit and a party bus in and out. Other raffles will also be held with the winners announced at 9 p.m.
