A Hillside woman, 40, was arrested and charged with aggravated assault after she pointed a gun at a man during an argument Tuesday.

OSWEGO, IL — Oswego police arrested and charged a Hillside woman with aggravated assault after they said she pointed a gun at a man during an argument Tuesday evening.

At about 5:30 p.m., police responded to the 400 block of Bluegrass Parkway for a report of a fight with weapons. As officers were on their way, they were told the woman pointed a gun at someone inside a house, according to officials.

Police officers from multiple agencies — including the Kendall County Cooperative Police Assistance Team, Kendall County Sheriff's Office, Yorkville Police Department and KenCom Public Safety Dispatch — came to the scene, setting up a perimeter around the residence.

Police said officers established contact with the people inside the residence, but they did not comply with officers' commands to exit the premise at first. They exited after "lengthy dialogue," according to police officials.

After an investigation, police determined it was Evelyn Reid, of the 600 block of North Wolf Road in Hillside, who pointed the gun. The 40-year-old woman was arrested and charged with aggravated assault under the Illinois Domestic Violence Act, police said.
