Woman Seriously Injured in Car vs. Semi Crash on Route 30
The 33-year-old Joliet woman was taken to an Aurora hospital where she is expected to survive.

AURORA, IL — A 33-year-old Joliet woman was seriously injured in a semi vs. car crash late Thursday afternoon.
According to the Aurora Police Department, the woman was driving a 2011 Hyundai Elantra westbound on Heggs Road when she may have attempted to turn left onto Route 30 and was T-boned by a semi traveling northbound.
Both vehicles ended up on the west side of the road in a ditch. The drivers were the only occupants in each vehicle.

The Joliet woman was extricated from her vehicle by the Aurora Fire Department and was taken to an Aurora hospital with serious injuries, but is expected to survive.
The semi driver, a 58-year-old man, was not injured.

No citations have been given yet and there were no outward signs of drugs or alcohol.
Route 30 between 111th and Wolf’s Crossing was closed for an extended period during the investigation.
