Woman Wanted On Warrant Barricaded Herself In Room: Oswego PD

Police said Cynthia J. Meyers was taken to a hospital for evaluation after she was taken into custody.

OSWEGO, IL — Oswego police said Cynthia J. Meyers, 32, of the 200 block of Springbrook Trail South, was arrested Monday night after police were called to a home at that location at 8:40 p.m. for a domestic incident where a female was causing damage. Police said when they arrived Meyers had barricaded herself inside a room and was refusing to come out, while also making suicidal statements during communication with the officers.

Police said Meyers was taken into custody at 11 p.m. and was taken to a hospital for evaluation due to her previous statements.

Meyers was charged with criminal damage to property and obstructing a peace officer, in addition to police determining she had an active warrant out for her arrest from the Illinois Department of Corrections. As a result, she was taken to Kendall County Public Safety Center.

According to police, Meyers' court date is scheduled for Oct. 9, 2018.
