Yellow Dot Sticker Progam May Help Save Your Life

YORKVILLE, IL — A new way to help save your life in the event of an emergency is being offered as part of a lunch and learn event at Beecher Center in Yorkville.

The Kendall County TRIAD will be offering information regarding the Yellow Dot Sticker Program, which assists first responders in the providing the best care for citizens in case of a traffic crash, according to a release from the Kendall County Sheriff’s Office.

Participants place a circular yellow sticker on the lower left corner of the driver’s side rear window of their vehicles and fill out a card to place in their glove box. The information on the card includes: the participant’s name, a photograph, medical conditions, recent surgeries, current medications, allergies, physician information and emergency contact information. The Yellow Dot Sticker on the window and the information provided on the cards alerts law enforcement and other first responders to potential life saving information in emergency situations.

During the Lunch and Learn program, Kendall County TRIAD staff along with Senior Services Deputy Wayne Dial and officers from Oswego PD and Yorkville PD will be on hand to answer questions, assist in completing the information card, and take photographs of participants. The program will be held from 11:15 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. Feb. 19 at the Beecher Center, located at 908 Game Farm Road in Yorkville.
