Yorkville Man Invaded Oswego Home, Threatened Residents: Sheriff
Officials said the man forced his way into an apartment and threatened the residents, one of whom was previously in a relationship with him.

OSWEGO, IL — A Yorkville man is facing 13 charges after he forcibly entered an Oswego apartment and threatened the residents, according to the Kendall County Sheriff's Office.
Deputies were dispatched Jan. 27 to an apartment on Light Road after receiving a call about a domestic disturbance. Officials allege that Walter King forced his way into the residence and made threats toward the occupants, one of whom was previously in a relationship with the 31-year-old man and had a restraining order against him, officials said.
King fled the scene before deputies arrived. The incident prompted an investigation that led to the man being charged with the following:

- Two counts of home invasion
- Two counts of residential burglary
- One count of criminal trespass to a residence
- One count of felony violation of an order of protection
- Two counts of endangering the life of a child
- One count of criminal damage to property
- One count of aggravated assault
- One count of theft
- Two counts of misdemeanor violation of an order of protection
Law enforcement officials issued a warrant on Feb. 8 for King's arrest. Members of the United States Marshals Great Lakes Regional Fugitive Task Force apprehended him on Feb. 14.
Following a court hearing, King remains detained at the Kendall County jail awaiting his next court appearance on March 6.
