Catahoulas are known for being highly intelligent and energetic and are, in general, very even tempered. They make a good family dog and need daily and regular human stimulation. Prince is currently in a foster home and his foster has great things to say about him:
Prince (AKA Prince Hula given his breed mix) is a friendly dog who enjoys his walks but also laying at your feet into the evening. While he may look fully grown, his puppy side comes out with enthusiastic bounding when he discovers something new such as the recently fallen snow. He is delightful with kids who want a playful companion.
Prince walks well on leash but also enjoys his off leash walks at the dog park greeting all dogs small and large with a happy tail wag. He also is good with cats. Prince Hula is housebroken and crate trained, stays close to home, comes when called and knows a few basic commands.
Prince would do well as the only dog but also with another dog to play with. Prince will need regular exercise given his breed, size and energy.
Standard adoption fee is $295 (cash or check) and includes spay/neuter at our participating vets, immunizations/shots up to the point of adoption, fecal, deworming, frontline, 1st vet visit at one of our participating vets, micro-chipping and 30 days of shelter care insurance.
