$2M Bail For Northlake Man Accused of Sex Assault Against Child

PALATINE, IL — A Northlake man is accused of sexually assaulting a child after visiting the Palatine home of a friend Sunday, police say.

Luis Sandoval, 28, of the 100 block of Whitehall Drive, Northlake, was charged with felony predatory criminal sexual assault of a child. His bail was set at $2 million Monday, April 3, and his next court date is April 20.

According to Palatine police, Sandvoal was visitng a friend who lives in town Sunday, April 2, when a child at the friend's home claimed to be the victim of a sexual assault by Sandoval. Detectives investigated the allegations of the child, who is younger than 13, and Sandoval was eventually arrested.

Details concerning the victim's assault accusations, as well as the child's exact age and gender were not released by police. It also is unclear what the relationship is between the victim and the friend Sandoval was visiting.
